Akon spent his childhood in Senegal, Africa, before he and his family decided to move to the United States and settled in New Jersey. There he later began to recognize the type of hip hop music of the street gangs.

His career skyrocketed when it hits the second single from the album “Trouble” that “Lonely” Released 2005. The song was successfully ruled the charts for 15 consecutive weeks. Akon then released his second album “Konvicted” in 2006. The album, Akon collaboration with the famous rapper like Eminem , Snoop Dogg and Styles P. The first single entitled “Smack That” was sung along with Eminem and get a triple platinum success.
After that, the Muslim rapper released third album “Freedom” in 2008 with the lead single “Right Now (Na Na Na)”. This time it took Akon Lil Wayne and Young Jeezy to contribute sing his songs.
Apart from being a singer, Akon often helping other artists in creating songs such as Lady Gaga – “Just Dance”, New Kids On The Block – “Put it on My tab” and Whitney Houston – “Like I Never Left”. He also produced “The Sweet Escape” belonging to Gwen Stefani , working OST Indian film ” Ra.One “, has a variety show and starred in the film.
Personal life Akon notoriously closed. He has six children from three different women. He also wants his children are not exposed to the public. He was also known as a philanthropist, he has a charity called Konfidence Foundation tasked to help children in Africa.
