Agnes Bruckner's Role

Agnes played Eden in Venom. She has an on-again, off again relationship with the film's male lead and is in the midst of working nights and going to school so she can go to college. She dreams of leaving the small town she grew up in but is faced with a deadly situation and instead of a fight for her future she is now in a fight for her life.

Agnes played a very different role here. While the film itself isn't nothing amazing nor awful, Agnes did a great job playing a female heroine. It's great to see her kickin some butt. If you are a fan of horror it's worth checking out for a new twist on the slasher type genre. There is blood, gore and a few awesome death scenes a plenty. All in all I think the film really stuck out (more or less was hidden) because it really felt it was made and released out of it's time. This would have very well been a cult hit if nothing else in the late ninties back when the likes of Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer Ruled, now with the most recent releases like The Hills Have Eyes, Hostel, and The Saw series, audiences are much more hardcore. Maybe that is just another reason why people didn't like them film and then again it could just be another excuse to why it didn't live up to it's writer's predacessors.
